Advanced Micro Devices has launched their quad-core single-socket Opterons, today. From our point of view, it would be nice if they will be today's equivalent of yesteryear's Opteron 165/175 and 185. We can only hope. Perhaps we could get two or five of them..? Please visit AMD's website for the press release. AMD is aiming these processors at entry level workstations and servers. From that point, the customers will - hopefully - be impressed enough to try AMD in the highend; atleast, that is my take on this. In non-related news, it is raining kittens and puppies here.
