DigiTimes sits down with NVIDIA's general manager of their mobile division, Michael Rayfield, as they get the scoop on NVIDIA's APX 2500 processor. The APX 2500 is an applications processor aimed at the smartphone market. Going against the normal grain of GPUs only, NVIDIA aims to gain marketshare in an uncharted territory. With plans to release a new generation every year with product refreshes every six months, NV hopes to out do their competitors on this front. It is obvious that this is a growing market and it looks as if NVIDIA is one step closer to making a full fledged x86 processor in the future - or, atleast they can hope.
