It is reported that AMD's Q1 loss is expected to rise."We hear a very similar tone out of AMD that we did out of Intel," said Cody Acree, an analyst with Stifel, Nicolaus & Co. "Intel set a tone that will be repeated for most companies, not just in the PC space, but the market as a whole."
While AMD is regarded as having competitive products, AMD doesn't have a product in one area where Intel is gaining ground: chips for "netbooks," or mini-laptops. Intel's Atom chip for netbooks has been a hit.
