Advanced Micro Devices has finally completed the spin-off of their manufacturing arm. Abinstein, a member of our forums, has made a good point though - we shouldn't think of this as a spin-off, but as a joint venture. With that behind us, we can now say that the new company with unveil a logo and a new name this Wednesday. We will inform you of these changes once we come across them. The Foundry Company will employ about 100 people in our hometown of Austin, while AMD will employ roughly 2,100, unless more get let go. The Statesman has more.
