Vigor Gaming Announces Next-Gen Thermoelectric CPU Cooling System for Intel and AMD

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif.--Vigor Gaming Computer, a developer of custom gaming rigs and high end peripherals, announced its Vigor Monsoon? II Lite, a thermoelectric cooling system for both Intel Core 2 Duo, and AMD K8 and AMD AM2 CPUs.

The Monsoon II Lite provides sub-ambient cooling. This means that unlike air and water CPU coolers, which can only cool a system as low as the present room temperature (for example 72 degrees), Monsoon II Lite-equipped systems can be cooled even lower.

Used commonly in the aerospace industry, the thermoelectric chip (TEC) or thermoelectric cooler concept used by Vigor Gaming have not been incorporated for cooling CPUs due to previous condensation and power consumption associated problems. Vigor Gaming resolved these problems by developing a patented advanced software controlled system, which regulates the entire system to eliminate any possibility of condensation and efficiently reduces power consumption.

Coolermaster RRCCXW9U1GP Cooler Review PDF Print E-mail

Future Looks has a review of the Coolermaster RRCCXW9U1GP or Mars cooler. They test on the Athlon 64 3800+. You can pick it up here at Zipzoomfly for $44.99 including free shipping.

As you can see, the Mars runs cooler at Idle than the Stock AMD. The stock cooling does however perform slightly better in a loaded situation and in the amount of time it takes for the CPU core temperature to return to idle from a load. Based on these results, we can see this heatsink is going to offer similar thermal performance to that of a stock cooler. However, we all know that sheer cooling isn't all there is to this game, it's also about how quietly you cool. Round two!

Digit Life looks at some budget AMD CPU coolers for the Winter season.

We'll not be over-modest either: practically all interesting coolers (both budget and High-End models) were thoroughly tested and reviewed. We've done titanic job. Our objective to respond promptly to market peripeteia and provide objective analytical information to our readers is completed. But it's not the reason to rest on our oars. Even having obtained a charge of Xmas spirits, we should take into account that the industry is constantly moving on, no breaks, weekends, holidays, or vacations. So today we'll get back to our day-to-day life and focus on the latest budget products for AMD that appeared this winter ? Igloo 7310 series from GlacialTech and Thermaltake TR2 R1. We'll not forget about the freshly reviewed Speeze CopperReef, which was not included into the previous shootout. This article will also include our updated ratings. OK, let's start the ball rolling!

Hitachi Provides New Liquid-Cooling System for Industry-leading Vendors

System to be used in High-end HP Workstations based on AMD Opteron Processors

TOKYO--Hitachi, Ltd., (NYSE:HIT) (TOKYO:6501) today announced that it will provide its newly developed Liquid-Cooling System for the latest model of AMD Opteron-based workstations by HP. Hitachi is the industry?s leading liquid-cooling manufacturer with products that meet the standards of PC, workstation and server manufacturers worldwide.

With the increasing performance of workstations and increasing capacity of memory chips or other components in the workstation, heat dissipation today is becoming more of an issue. Hitachi developed the Liquid-Cooling System to significantly reduce heat and noise typically generated in high-performance workstation applications. The new system, which is superior to traditional air-cooling with improved performance and reduced noise will be used in the high-end HP xw9400 Workstation.

?We are assured that the HP xw9400 Workstation with Hitachi?s Liquid-Cooling System will provide end users with a quiet and comfortable environment. Working with HP is the tip of the iceberg, and we anticipate that other workstation manufacturers will follow suit,? said Hideaki Gemma, general manager, IT Thermal Solution Center for Hitachi, Ltd., Ubiquitous Platform Systems Division. ?Hitachi is proud to work with HP to deliver the state-of-the art technology as market leaders and wishes to continue working closely with HP to develop even more attractive liquid-cooling products.?

SPIRE FOURIER IV Heatsink Review PDF Print E-mail

Tweaktown has tested the SPIRE FOURIER IV copper heatpipe on an Opteron.

As processor technology evolves, the aftermarket responds with more advanced products to keep pace with advances in CPU design. Air-cooling is by far the most user friendly and cost effective solution and the PC enthusiast has a wide range of products to choose from in this arena. Over the past few years, we've seen quite a change in the way manufacturers use existing materials and technology in innovative ways to engineer better cooling solutions. The use of heatpipes, for instance, was a pretty radical departure from traditional cooling but is quite commonplace today. Spire is a company that has been in this game for 15 years or so, and we're going to take a look at one of their newer offerings in this review. The Fourier IV cooler makes use of copper fins as well as four copper heatpipes (hence the name) to move heat away from the processor. It has a unique look owing to the non-standard fan placement and Spire suggests that it can be used without the fan to cool the CPU passively. Let's put it through its paces and see how it does.
