Tweaktown has reviewed the Vigor Gaming Monsoon II HSF. So what is this cooler?

Above is what makes this unit different from the rest of the kids on the block. For those not familiar with this type of cooling solution, it is a TEC unit, also commonly referred to as a Peltier cooler. The simplified concept behind this type of cooling is that when you pass a current through two dissimilar metals that have been connected at two junctions, you experience the Peltier effect. One side of the plate gets much cooler and the opposite side gets much warmer. This makes a TEC very useful for cooling electronic components, but if you get the processor to remain below ambient temperature, you have issues with condensation building up around the processor and core areas. It doesn?t take a rocket scientist to figure out that this isn?t a good thing.

Dragon Steel Mods and Virtual Hideout have each posted reviews of the CoolerMaster Mars CPU Cooler using Athlon 64s.

So you want to try something new that has a bit of originality and can replace your boring CPU cooler? The Coolermaster Mars can definitely fill both of these requirements. While it is not an overclocker's choice, the Mars performs and looks much better than any stock cooler that comes with most any processor. Depsite the size of the Mars cooler, its tapered base should allow it to work in most any system or application. Users needing a decently quiet CPU cooler will enjoy the performance and its extra added effects.

XS Reviews has tested the Silverstone Nitrogen NT06 CPU Cooler. They test it out on an Athlon 64 3500+.

Lets get this out of the way first, the NT06 is a very, very nice looking cooler. It does not rely on LED's or bright colours to look good, it does it simply and stylishly with the silver of the fins and the black of the surround contrasting brilliantly. The cooling performance of the NT06 is also very good, with low temperatures in both idle and load states. The only bad points of this cooler are the noise levels and the cost. These down points may put off those that like a quiet PC, and those that can't afford such outlays on CPU coolers, but those that like very good performance and a stylish looking cooler, would be making a good move, if they purchased the Silverstone Nitrogen NT06.

Phoronix has reviewed the OCZ Tempest CPU cooler. They test it out on the AM2 Athlon 64 X2 4200+. You can pick up one of these guys here starting at $50.

Coming out of this review we were all relatively pleased by the package presented with the OCZ Tempest and its performance results. The OCZ Tempest is compatible with all major desktop sockets from AMD and Intel, and even when pairing it with a mid-range Athlon 64 X2 it had no problems cooling the processor. Its installation was effortless, though some novice users may find the motherboard removal to be difficult. While OCZ's reputation with gamers and enthusiasts is with system memory, the Tempest is certainly an example that OCZ Technology has the potential to expand and be a leader in other areas. There were no major complaints with the OCZ Tempest other than the minor issues with potentially the installation process. At the time of writing, the OCZ Tempest is selling for approximately $60 USD.

?Reserator? is a compound word derived from ?Reservoir? and ?Radiator?- it acts as a reservoir while radiating heat. This product works well with natural convection and integrates a Water Pump inside for convenience. It incorporates a coolant flow sensor as well as the Flow Indicator in the front, for safe and convenient use.
