AMD's DDR3 socket, AM3, is set to ship as samples in October. The processor that will be the main part of this platform is known as Deneb, AMD's 45nm Phenom. AMD has decided to design Deneb with a DDR2 and DDR3 memory controller; however, we are not quite sure how that will work. Expect AM3 versions of this chip early next year.AMD plans to sample its AM3 enabled chips by October time. They are expected as we speak but just as every CPU related product from AMD, these plans have been sort of delayed.
