What also seems clear, but which Buxton couldn't comment on, is that AMD is making room for the Phenom II 955, which hasn't been launched yet but seems to be leaking out anyway. The 3GHz 940 now seems to be positioned squarely against the newly launched 2.66GHz Intel Q8400 on price, while the 3.2GHz 255 may well be priced at the level of the 2.82GHz Q9550 or the 2.66GHz Core i7-920.
