AMD believes Cinema 2.0 will change gaming as we know it. Unfortunately I know better. Cinema 2.0 will allow movie makers to make flashier games for their movies that like almost all movie based games will suck. Better technology doesn't mean you are getting a better game.

He went to explain that now AMD is seeking to take the, "cinematic quality of what those folks are doing while working with the interactive folks in the industry to really help move those two vectors together." Boswell explained that these days the cinematic guys crave more interactivity, while gamers want more cinematic immersion. "Cinema 2.0 is a technology base that allows those two technology vectors to come together," he said.

Valve has updated their hardware survey. The new one reveals Intel with just over 58% CPU share, and AMD at just over 41% CPU share. Dual core CPUs are almost 37% now which is pretty impressive. Single core remains at just under 59%, and quad core is over 4%. As far as triple core Phenoms, well I'm currently one out of 142 shown for a whopping .01%.

On the GPU side of things Nvidia leads at over 62% of the GPUs with AMD at just over 30%. Intel is an also ran at less than 2%.

Here inside Tek Republik we shot a Youtube video for a contest for Civilization Revolution. Yes, it isn't that awesome, but I did get Lincoln, Napoleon, and Ceasar costumes, and we dressed people up and had them play the game and kill each other. Sort sort of think of it as a lower budget more killing filled Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. I've thought of doing a computer show on the web, and maybe local access for years. In fact I was talking to Van Smith about that kind of gig. Is anyone interested in that?
