FreeBSD 6.0 has been released. You can grab it here including the 64 bit version. Significant performance improvements to the filesystem and direct disk access layers of the OS. The filesystem is now multithreaded and can take full advantage of multiple CPU systems. So we see the file system is multithreaded which should be good news for anyone running a FreeBSD server including us. |
