In addition to AMD AM3 support, the new motherboard also comes with four DDR3-1800 memory slot, two PCI-Express x16 slots, integrated DirectX 10 capable graphics similar to the Geforce 8300, five SATA ports, 7.1-channel audio, Gigabit LAN, one eSATA port, and DVI, HDMI and D-Sub outputs.

Clearly the 770-C45 is not going to blow you away with special features and lots of gadgets; that’s not its purpose. Instead, it is able to provide all the standard features and settings that combine, with a few extras to form a decent low-priced AM3 motherboard. For users not used to overclocking in the BIOS, the easy overclock switch allows for up to a 20% FBS increase that still allows less experienced OC'ers to gain a performance boost without being confused by the array of settings in the Cell Menu tab.

Affordable, budget, low-end...these are words that invoke unavoidable thoughts of poor performance, sparse features and uninspired design. While that might have been true in the days of yore, this motherboard puts all those worries to rest. This is mainly true because the GA-MA770-UD3 is not in fact a low-end motherboard; it is simply a mainstream model with a budget price. Despite being one of the least expensive AMD motherboards that you can buy, the specifications list reads like any mainstream motherboard. Granted, it doesn't have any eSATA ports but that is a moot point since eSATA adoption has been slow among consumers. We also can't begrudge this motherboard's lack of CrossFire support since the AMD 770 chipset was designed to only support one graphics card.

The AMD 790GX chipset of the ASRock A790GXH/128M board offers a very fast graphics processor which was able to beat the Futuremark 3DMark06 benchmark result of one nVidia 6600 GT video card and that is very amazing for an onboard video solution. AMD announced the HD3300 IGP of the AMD 790GX chipset as the fastest motherboard GPU of the world last year, but these good benchmark values exceed the expectations. The benchmark results specified above by the way contain beside the newer AMD Phenom II 710 values a 3DMark03 benchmark result with the AMD Athlon of 64 3000+ processor. This result is just for an easier comparison with older motherboard benchmark results.
