Heise Online says Cray is looking to top the super computer charts with a new computer for the University of Tennessee that will utilize quad cores from AMD.

The overall processor performance Rmax is more relevant for practical applications, which for the Red Storm for example, is about 20 percent lower. It's likely that the UTK's Cray XT4, which is equipped with the new AMD Quad Core Opterons (probably type Budapest) will show a similar performance differential.
