Most of the packaging we come across isn't that interesting but we thought Cooler Master did a good job with theirs. It's deceptively simple a black box with a paper wrapper around with with the name and features of the PSU. There's a Butterfly on the front which hints at the packaging as the box folds apart from the inside out in a butterfly like pattern where everything inside is packaged neatly inside. Obviously this has nothing to do with the quality of the power supply but it's a neat way to take things an extra step.
The box isn't the only unique thing though about the Silent Pro M600 as it is the first series of power supplies from Cooler Master to offer flat modular cables for better airflow and also better cable management. Snapping in the modular cables in and out is a snap and they are quite easy to maneuver as necessary. Modular cables are some of my favorite things and we all know the mess of cords that can be created when you have a power supply with far too many unnecessary cables.
As the name implies silence is also key in this new line of power supplies. A silencer bracket is included which screws into the PSU to reduce overall noise. In addition the main fan is a large 135mm cooling fan which covers the entire bottom of the PSU. A larger fan of course means it doesn't have to turn as fast and thus runs quieter. The fan also adjusts the speed as necessary for cooling. A larger copper with aluminum heatsink also helps keeping things running quite cool. No worries for overheating despite the quiet nature of the power supply.
