A quick recap of AMD's press day event for Phenom II. AMD seems very excited over the new CPU and it definitely seems to be their best part since the Socket 754/939 days. It may not take them all the way up there but this looks to be a much more successful launch than Phenom. I had some hands on time with some of their machines and since I've had a lot of success overclocking Phenoms I tried to obtain the same rates that AMD had in their demo systems. I reached a similar overclock of around 4GHz with some tweaks of the voltage to 1.55v in the motherboard's BIOS and it seemed stable going through Crysis and Cinebench. My system especially seemed to run quite cool of around 25-30 degrees Celsius idling but that might have been the open-air nature of the Antec Skeleton case. Feedback to jeff dot tom at gmail.com

With poses like that the guys at AMD are this close to boy band potential.

AMD's HQ in Austin. If you zoom in really close, you can see how Phenom II performs in task manager.

You can tell from it's markings this case grew up in the streets. It also made the tragic mistake of the hard drive being loose on the PSU tray. I poured one out for it later that night.

The only thing I know to do with people paying bad piano covers is to pay them to make it at least entertaining. Thanks to Ari from BitePR for the video.
