whatever happened to mram?

I read an article a few years ago (hell...more 'n a few years now I guess) about mram, being developed by IBM I think, that would hold its data in due to its design based on magnetic storage.

....anything?

Seemed like a technology that was going to take quite a while (if ever) to get working when I'd read about it. Funny, it's basically core memory.

its just that I remember reading about it, and they were talking as if it was the end-all to not having to offload all your data when you reboot (which is supposedly very important >_>) but since then not a peep lol.

Yeah, I'd read the same thing. Holds data like flash/nvram, but supposedly faster and as dense as dram (possibly more dense due to the 3d nature? Core memory was 3d, I dunno, maybe this stuff isn't,) and has unlimited rewrites.
There are a lot of big ideas that just never make it in reality. Hopefully zRAM doesn't turn out like MRAM.
