Any DDR533 support for AMD mobos?

This might be a knucklehead question, but does anyone know if there's any motherboards out there that have or will have support for DDR533? I'm trying to upgrade from an Intel LGA775 system to a socket 939 for ideally plugging in an AMD Athlon64 X2. I got 2gig of DDR533, I'd hate to have to throw it away and downgrade to DDR400.

being that ddr533 is not a ddr standard , no motherboards officially support it , but many mother boards have the ability to adjust the memory all the way up to 300mhz(600ddr)

such a mother board would be a dfi nforce4 motherboard , some msi motherboards have the same adjustments

Your memory is probably DDR2 (PC2-4300.) There are no AMD motherboards that currently support DDR2. Socket AM2, which is coming in the second half of the year is rumored to support DDR2 (PC2-5400 at least.)

If you want to still use that memory, wait for socket AM2 to upgrade. It'll use DDR2 which is what you have.

Yeah, but at that speed, it'll be choking the poor Athlon... unless I'm misreading the forecasts for AMD's DDR2 implimentation...

all the forecasts have been done on a pre 45 week 2005 am2 cpu

i would not base anything on them , i would wait untl may and then maybe we will know the truth

Well I mean in terms of going with 533 vs 800.

the problem with the 2005 am2 cpu's the fsb on the memory was only running at 100mhz

so there is a lot of head way to be made with it , don't count amd am2 on the short side yet
