As some of you might have seen in the Leadtek forum, I have a new NF7-S 2.0 coming in. It's compensation for having to pull a mainboard out of one of my personal systems to keep someone up and running at work. It was an unexpectedly cool move from my employer, I think....
Anyway, I'm planning to replace my v1.1 board in my main rig with this 2.0. Assuming I insert the PCI cards in the exact same slots, I shouldn't have to rebuild/reinstall Windows XP, right? If I don't, it should only take an hour or so for the whole operation. If I do, it's the whole evening...
I also ordered a Zalman passive heatsink and some Arctic Alumina Thermal Adhesive for the MCP/northbridge... With the 2.0 boards, do I need to pull the southbridge HSF again, clean it, and apply some AS3/5 to it, or has everyone done pretty well with them? I had to do it with my 1.1 board.
Any ideas? Any thoughts?
