KN8 Ultra - Any Issues with this board?

Hi,

I'm getting ready to build a system for a friend with the Abit KN8 Ultra as it fits his requirements at a very good price. Before I hit the buy button, I thought I'd post here to see if anyone has had any issues with the board. I'm especially interested in compatiblity problems you may have encountered with video cards or memory. He's not an overclocker, but wants solid stable WinXP performance.

I'll be putting a A64 3500+ Venice in it, with a 6600GT video card. The memory is a single stick of PC3200 1GB Crucial. He'll be adding another 1GB stick in the near future for dual channel.

Yes, I have built several dual channel intel systems before. Are you saying that the nF4U chipset is ultra picky about ram? Or are you saying that just be sure to buy a second stick of the same memory from Crucial?

amd is picky about ram

a matched pair of approved ram will work best , this does not say that non matched sets will not work , just that you have a better chance of memory working properly with a matched pair

that is the reason why memory companies sell matched pairs for
