A8N32 - SLI Deluxe Memory question

Hello,

I have recently purchased a bare bone system with an ASUS A8N32 ? SLI Deluxe motherboard with dual channel memory. My question concerns how the memory can be installed.

I have two sticks of Crucial memory that I want to install. Usually, per the ASUS Mobo documentation, that would go into dimms A1 and B1. The problem is that the heatsink and fan cover the B1 dimm so I was wondering if it would be possible to install the memory into dimms B2 and A2 instead.

Thanks for any help as I am a Nu-bee at working/building pc's.

well it says to use a1 and b1 , but it doesn't hurt to try it the way that you want to try it

I got the machine up and running with the memory configuration (b2 and a2) memory slots used. So it seems to be working. System recognizes and identifies the memory correctly. My only question is how to tell it is running in dual channel. This should be running in dual channel mode but I've learned to never assume anything.
