Just received my hp dm3z yesterday with Turion Neo L625 and Ati Radeon 4330 w/ switchable graphics. use 3200 igp when in power saving mode.

The build quality is amazing, keyboard is a dream to type on. I was looking for a thin-light to replace my dv5z, which was a little to heavy and ran
a little hot. This one really caught my eye when i saw the hp preview for it in September, ordered it as soon as it was available on hp's site. I am thoroughly impressed with this laptop. Get about 5 hours of battery life while surfing the web.

I nice to see AMD getting more design wins with the gen2 ultraportable platform.

Hi there, I have been interested in an AMD ultraportable for God knows how long. The DV2's main problem for me was the single core and lame IGP. The DM3z fixes both issues and is not that expensive. I just wish HP was more tolerant regarding international credit cards. I'd buy one in a sec if I could from HP direct.

BTW, how's the battery life? Are you into undervolting? How hot does it get?

HP are putting out some great AMD based products lately, DM3 looks like the best example of an AMD ultraportable to date

The only thing that worries me is battery life with Neo X2, there's no doubt that Neo X2 is a great performer but AMD don't have a great reputation for battery life If you could post some battery life numbers that would be brill

On the edge of selling the Macbook Pro for this. It was overkill for my needs and i haven't had much luck with the Nvidia chipset, it's died once and is currently on its way out again from the looks of it *sigh* Biggest tech regret of my life

Im getting about 5 hours on battery while surfing the web running on the IGP. I haven't tried undervolting yet, but will probable try to see how low i can go when i get the chance.

The only thing that bothers me, though, is that one of the cores run 6C hotter that the other. Am i correct in thinking that this is normal some times.

5 hours while surfing is just amazing imo

Yeah that is normal, probably it's bad mounting from the manufacturer, shouldn't really affect you anyhow
