Hey guys... I bought a new sound card today, and I figured that since I was going to have the case open I would take everything apart and clean out the dust and grime buildup. It's been prolly about a year since I've cleaned the dust out of the fans and and heatsinks in the computer so it had a pretty good buildup in the case. I figured that since I was putting the new sound card in I would just take everything apart and clean it up... This is as good a time as any right?

Well, anyhow once I got the video card out I noticed that I have 2 broken caps on the video card. They look like they exploded a little bit. It looks like they were pushed out at the top, and on one of them you can see some paper protruding from the top. I took some pictures of it but my camera sucks a**, and it wouldnt focus properly. Here is a link so you can see what happened...

The thing is though that the card works flawlessly. I never had a single problem with it, and it still works even after plugging it back in. I didnt even notice it until I took the card out to clean the heatsink.

What do you guys think I should do? Should I try to RMA it? Or since it works fine should I just use it and be happy?

And those are suppost to be good caps.

I would RMA it, just to play it safe.

Of coarse you could get a 3870 and start folding again

Wow Is that a choke or something that has burnt out? (in between the 2 caps)
I had an Evga 7900GT that blew a cap and I just resoldered on a new one, it's easy, but having 2 blow like that, seems to me there is a problem elsewhere making them blow. Besides that choke or whatever it is concerns me.

I'm with Brutis, RMA it and get a 3870. They fold really well. :D
