Flashing LED! Help!

Postby ariffaziz » Mon Jan 15, 2007 1:03 pm

I have a Canon Pixma MP150 printer and it ran out of black ink. So i decided to fill up the old cartriage with a refill and put it in the printer. However, the printer detected the same cartriage and cannot calculate the amount of ink left. I chose to "continue anyway". Then, my LED on black ink cannot stop flashing. I switched back to a proper ink cartriage(a new one not a refill) and the light is still there. How do i get the Black Ink LED to stop flashing? Am i forever screwed as they detected i tried to refill ink? I went to various websites and even the canon websites but they have nothing of this sort. How do i solve this and stop the Black Ink LED from flaswhing everytime? Thanks guys.

i can not help you on this one , but i have heard that some other machines have had problems with the inks tubes getting clogged

you might meed to take a cotton swap , and clean the connection real good with alcohol , or nail polish remover

it could be just a bad connection , a little cleaning could help where the contacts are

I'm guessing it's working exactly as it should. The printer (and ink cartridge) manufacturers don't want you to refill.
black electrical tape is the solution... tape it over the damned LED.

The connection is fine. I cleaned it throughly and the light is still there! OMG! If anything happens to it and the manufacturers see the blinking lights, they know i'm at fault!

1 - Blame someone else.
2 - Break the whole thing and claim there was an accident
3 - Buy a new one and swap it out (they seem to be only $38 new online right now).

That's what I was thinking when I OK'd but thought what the heck, let’s roll the dice and see what comes up...I didn't know that there was 7 sided die that had a blank face for one of its sides
